The CH23 dining chair was one of the first chairs that Hans J. Wegner designed exclusively for Carl Hansen & Søn in 1950. His designs were not only unique, but also set new standards for modern furniture design. The ergonomic chair features clean, organic contours and a refined style, demonstrating the young Hans J. Wegner's unique design approach and ingenious craftsmanship. Although the CH23 chair may seem simple at first glance, it incorporates many refined and sophisticated details, including the elegant cruciform hoods in the backrest, a double-woven seat and arched back legs that ensure optimal stability. Carl Hansen & Søn reintroduced the CH23 in 2017, staying true to Wegner's original hand-drawn sketches, and leaving all aesthetic and structural components intact.
