The IC Lighting collection designed by Michael Anastassiades in 2014 for Flos was inspired by the video of a juggler rotating a series of glass spheres in balance on his body. Anastassiades was hypnotised by the apparent absence of gravity of those rotating spheres and wanted to represent with this beautiful collection the precise moment when the spheres remained motionless in a perfect balance. Like the spheres of the video, the lighting body of the lamp appears delicately suspended, elusive. The IC Lights Table explores balance in its most simplified form. Made with a steel structure, with brushed and transparent painted brass finish, the contemporary design is finished with an opal blown glass diffuser, perfectly balanced on the edge of the slender stem. Projecting a subtle glow into any space, the ethereal sphere provides the perfect finishing touch to this dimmable light.
