Saarinen Tulip | Side Table | Arabescato Marble Shiny

The Tulip Table is part of the Pedestal collection designed by the internationally renowned architect Eero Saarinen. A revolutionary table in shape and materials that became an icon of modern design. Its shape resembles the stem of a tulip, which opens in the final part to support the corolla, in this case the top. Innovative not only in the shape with pure and essential lines, but also in the materials. The circular base was in fact made of die-cast aluminum as, with the technologies of the time, the plastic was not strong enough to withstand the weight. The central foot is made of a single seamless white aluminum block, and supports an elegant round top in 2 cm thick Arabescato marble. The clear polyester finish also protects against stains. The coffee table integrates into very different furnishing contexts, even in traditional domestic interiors.
