Tea Trolley 901 | Dark

The 901 Tea trolley designed by Alvar Aalto in 1936 is among the finest furnishings of the famous Finnish master, and was inspired by the English tea culture and the delicate structures of Japanese architecture. Equipped with two large rear wheels, Tea Trolley 901 features two shelves and a solid birch wood handle. The twin wheels, combined with the lightness of the birch, are all about maneuvering and moving the cart easily. Perfect for serving tea, coffee and other beverages, it has been repurposed by Hella Jongerius with cream and aubergine coatings and details. His subtle interventions resulted in a light and dark version of the trolley, which play with the reflected light on the top and bottom shelves.
