TOIO | Floor Lamp | Red - Ex Display
A 300 watt vintage car headlamp inspired the Toio floor lamp, designed in 1962 by Achille Castiglioni and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni.Toio is the result of a series of objects assembled by the two brothers: a fishing rod, a 1960s car headlamp and a folded sheet metal base. Along the nickel-plated brass stem that defines the height of the lamp, a series of eyelets are positioned to reproduce a real fishing rod, guiding the electric cable from the light-shaped diffuser to the transformer that acts as a base. An electronic dimmer allows you to adjust the light emission, generating the desired atmosphere. Considered a design classic resulting from the visionary genius of the Castiglioni brothers, the Toio floor lamp is part of the permanent collection of MoMA in New York City.
