A masterpiece of modern furniture, the Domus chair was born as part of a series of furniture designed for the Domus student complex in Helsinki. Comfortable enough to allow you to sit for extended periods of time, the Domus chair was designed to be a multifunctional chair capable of meeting the diverse needs of student accommodation: in student rooms, corridors, auditoriums and conference rooms, as well as in the cafeteria. Designed in 1946 by Ilmari Tapiovaara, it achieved great international success. The characteristic short armrests make it versatile, offering the necessary support and comfort in any type of use. The Domus chair is a stackable, comfortable and ergonomic piece of furniture, with an elegant and timeless design. Today produced by Artek, the chair has become a beloved classic of Finnish design.
