CH22 is Hans Wegner's masterpiece that has become a cult of modern Danish design and one of the designer's best known and most sought-after projects. The armchair, produced since 1950, was part of Hans J. Wegner's debut collection for Carl Hansen. This low armchair is made of solid wood and features a veneered back with a characteristic curved ergonomic shape. It has a simple and essential design, the result of high quality craftsmanship and underlined by the presence of the seat woven with rope. Today, while some parts of the manufacturing process have been modernized, the chair is still produced with excellent handwork, from assembly to surface treatment and seat weaving. The CH22 has excellent ergonomics, a sturdy construction and characteristic shaped elements, which result in a unique appearance that expresses the extent to which every detail has been thought of. It is available in solid oak and walnut, with various finishes.
