Designed by Alvar Aalto in 1936, the 112B Wall Shelf is an excellent example of the legendary designer's use of the bentwood technique. The shelf uses triangular frames as brackets to support the shelf. The brackets, in bent solid birch lamella, can be positioned both below and above the panel, in which case they also act as bookends. Elegant and practical, this wall shelf shows designer Alvar Aalto's passion for natural materials.
