Meaning "flower" in Latin, the renowned Italian brand Flos was founded with the aim of creating a life-changing system of lighting. Committed to quality, craftsmanship and innovative design, Flos has collected an ever-flowering portfolio that includes the creative flair of Michael Anastassiades, Achille Castiglioni and Philippe Starck. Founded in the 1960s by Dino Gavina and Cesare Cassina, Flos started reinventing lighting right from its conception. Experimenting with innovative materials Flos and its talented designers have managed to transform modern lighting by skilfully crafting each lamp from its headquarters in the Italian city of Brescia. Flos has become synonymous with quality design and innovation and was awarded its first Compasso d'Oro in 1979 for the Parentesi suspension lamp by Achille Castiglioni and Pio Manzù, Flos has also won innumerable other awards for innovative lighting and craftsmanship. Leader in the sector, today Flos continues to produce icons such as the Taccia table lamp, the Arco floor lamp and the Snoopy table lamp, as well as collaborating with internationally renowned contemporary designers.
